  • 17 oz IDEAL Capistrano® ham.
  • ¼ cup lard.
  • 1 chopped onion.
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped.
  • 2 chipotles in adobo, chopped.
  • ½ cup chicken broth.
  • ½ tbsp dried oregano.
  • ¼ tbsp ground black pepper.
  • 2 tbsp chopped epazote.
  • Salt to taste.

In a large pot, heat the lard over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until soft.

Add the chopped garlic and cook for an additional minute.
